Une augmentation rapide de la population causera des déséquilibres majeurs à plusieurs niveaux. L’lnitiative du siècle prônée par le gouvernement libéral altérera irrémédiablement l’équilibre démographique du Canada. 

Le parti conservateur reconnaît l’importance de l’immigration en matière d’économie et son apport à la diversité culturelle dans un Canada prospère et inclusif. Cependant, le gouvernement a aussi une responsabilité d’assurer une meilleure vie aux nouveaux arrivants en procurant de meilleures conditions que celles qu’ils laissent derrière eux.

Une augmentation trop rapide de la population aggravera substantiellement l’accès abordable à la propriété et au logement.

Une hausse démesurée de la population entraînera un impact négatif sur l’environnement et des coûts prohibitifs en financement d’infrastructures.

The Conservative Party rejects the policy objectives of the "Century initiative”, aimed at increasing Canada's population to 100 million by 2100, and will put forward an alternative plan focused primarily on wealth creation and ensuring the well-being of all Canadians and newcomers.

 

Explanation:

A rapid increase of the population will create major imbalances. The Century Initiative advocated by the Liberal government will cause irreparable damage to Canada's demographic balance.

 

Immigration is essential in creating a strong and dynamic economy, as well as contributing to cultural diversity in a prosperous and inclusive Canada. Concurrently, the government has a responsibility towards newcomers in offering them a better future.

 

Unfortunately, the Century Initiative will jeopardize housing affordability for the average Canadian and worsen housing costs. A highly inflated population will lead to negative impacts on environmental issues, and result in prohibitive costs for future infrastructure projects.
